Zach Galifianakis to voice The Joker in LEGO BATMAN Movie

Though Jared Leto is playing the The Joker in next Summer’s Suicide Squad, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that another version of the character is on its way to the big screen. The outlet reports that comedian Zach Galifianakis is in final negotiations to voice The Joker in the upcoming LEGO Batman movie. Galifianakis joins a cast that includes Will Arnett as the titular Dark Knight and Michael Cera as the boy wonder, Robin.

Jason Segel and Drew Pearce to write/direct new LEGO spin-off!

Another LEGO movie is on the way! The Hollywood Reporter today brings word that development has begun on a new big screen LEGO adventure beyond the three previously-announced projects. The new film, titled The Billion Brick Race, will be written and directed by The Muppets and Sex Tape star Jason Segel alongside Iron Man 3 and Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation scribe Drew Pearce!

Community director Rob Schrab to helm The LEGO Movie 2

Director Rob Schrab (“Community,” “The Mindy Project”) will mark his feature directorial debut overseeing construction on The LEGO Movie Sequel, the eagerly awaited follow-up to the worldwide sensation The LEGO Movie. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production, Warner Bros. Pictures.

Chris McKay to direct ‘The LEGO Movie’ sequel

Deadline reports that Warner Bros. has found their man to helm the sequel this years break out hit The LEGO Movie, and they’ve chosen Chris McKay, who served as the animation co-director on the first film. McKay is also credited with directing several episodes of “Robot Chicken,” “Titan Maximum,” and “Moral Orel” in addition to the TV movie Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III.

Box Office: ‘LEGO’ beats ‘Three Days’ and ‘Pompeii’ for a third week in first place

Two new movies opened in wide release on Friday. Not that anyone would notice as the blockbuster smash The LEGO Movie (Warner Bros.) ran rampant over the box office for a third week in a row, this time grossing two-and-a-half times the amount brought in by the #2 movie. Most of the movies that opened over the extended dual holiday weekend last week also took a massive drop this week, which meant that the two new movies could venture into second and third place despite weak showings.
