THE CABLE GUY
Winning the battle for #1 for a third weekend in a row was Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The Winter Soldier, starring Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie and Robert Redford, capitalizing on its strong reviews and solid word-of-mouth for an estimated weekend take of $26.6 million, down just 36% in its third weekend as it crossed the $200 million mark domestically. On top of that, it added an additional $35.3 million overseas to bring its international total to $385 million and its global total to $586.6 million.

Following the two teasers (check them out here and here) and a viral video, Warner Bros. Pictures has brought online the full trailer for Wally Pfister’s directorial debut, Transcendence, starring Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall, Kate Mara, Cole Hauser and Morgan Freeman.
Being the regular cinematographer and protegé of Christopher Nolan, it would make sense for Transcendence director Wally Pfister to take a page or two out of Nolan’s book for his debut directorial feature, but it appears he is also being influenced by Nolan in the first teaser trailer, as it is just as insubstantial and teasy as the recently released first look at Nolan’s Interstellar.
Entertainment Weekly has debuted the first two photos from Wally Pfister’s directorial debut,Transcendence, opening in theaters and IMAX on April 18. Pifster is most known for his cinematography on the Christopher Nolan films.
