Drew Goddard rumoured to direct Spider-Man reboot

The next big screen Spider-Man adventure appears to have found its director! According to Latino Review, Drew Goddard will both write and direct the upcoming reboot, which is to be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Goddard is no stranger to either Marvel Studios or Sony Pictures. He was previously set at the showrunner on “Marvel’s Daredevil” before taking writing and directing duties on Sony’s previously planned Sinister Six film.

Spider-Man to make MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War

Last night, Marvel Studios revealed they would co-produce a new Spider-Man movie in 2017 after introducing the character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe via one of their own films. Now, The Wall Street Journal reports that Spidey’s debut feature in the MCU will be none other than Captain America: Civil War, set for release on May 6, 2016.

‘Amazing Spider-Man 3’ and ‘Sinister Six’ get release dates

Columbia Pictures today announced its updated release strategy for the nearly $4 billion Spider-Man franchise. The next film in the series will be Sinister Six, writer-director Drew Goddard’s highly anticipated villain team-up, which is the first of several planned character and story expansions. The film, which will be produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, will hit theaters on November 11, 2016. Columbia Pictures will then release the next installment, The Amazing Spider-Man 3, in 2018.
