Nine years after Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass last teamed for The Bourne Ultimatum, Universal Pictures‘ Jason Bourne dominated the worldwide box office this weekend with an estimated $110.1 million.

For Jason Bourne, Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series. Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, and Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce. Based on characters created by Robert Ludlum, the film is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse.

Variety reports that Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Ocean’s Thirteen) will play the villain in the new Bourne movie, in which he will menace returning star Matt Damon. Variety notes he’s playing an assassin on the trail of Jason Bourne.

At the end of last month, The Bourne Legacy producer Frank Marshall revealed that his ideal plans for a fifth film in the franchise would see Jeremy Renner’s Aaron Cross teaming up with Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne. At today’s press conference for the August 10th release, Renner and Marshall offered a brief update about the state of future entries in the franchise.
