Women continue to dominate the box office as Shailene Woodley’s starring role in the adaptation of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars (20th Century Fox), co-starring Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff and Laura Dern, brought them out in flocks this weekend to the tune of $48.2 million for its opening weekend.
The John Green adaptation stars Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort and Willem Dafoe and opens in June.
The Fault in Our Stars movie poster is the first piece of marketing material and our first look at Hazel and Gus adapted for the big screen. It includes the tagline “One sick love story” and promotes the June 6, 2014 release date while the two lovebirds lay on the grass and share an intimate, happy moment together. The title looks very similar to how it appears on the book.
Two high profile book adaptations are currently in development by 20th Century Fox, and one of them, John Green’s The Fault in our Stars will be released next summer on June 6. Meanwhile, the adaptation of James Dashner’s The Maze Runner, about a group of young men who are put through a daily ritual running through a maze, has given up its February release date as 20th Century Fox has pushed it back seven months for release on September 19, 2014.
This new logo, launched on the film’s official Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr pages today, confirms that Josh Boone and author John Green are targeting for a 2014 release for the adaptation of the bestselling novel.
