Disney have debuted a new full trailer for their upcoming fifth Pirates adventure, starring Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem, as well as the film’s one-sheet poster!
Disney’s fifth Pirates of the Caribbean adventure, after much delay, arrives six years after the fourth in May 2017. But when the film debuted its second teaser during Sunday night’s Super Bowl, Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow was shown shockingly minimally. This comes after he was absent entirely from December’s first trailer. Both trailers have been met with praise and excitement: might this film’s marketing be better off without Depp?

The teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales debuted last night, and one of its most significant reveals is that Geoff Zanelli will replace Hans Zimmer as composer of the upcoming film.
Directed by Norwegian filmmakers Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning (Kon-Tiki), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will feature the return of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner and Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbosa.

On Friday, Deadline reported that British actress Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner) was closing in on the female lead in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, but now producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that Scodelario has landed the role. Bruckheimer also revealed the filming for the fifth installment will start in February in Queensland, Australia.
Rumored to have been up for the part late last month, The Giver star Brenton Thwaites has, according to a story at TheWrap, scored the role of “Henry” in the upcoming blockbuster franchise sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow appears to have found a new foe. TheWrap reports that Javier Bardem is in talks to play Captain Brand, the chief antagonist of Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
Warner Bros. and director Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes) are moving forward at a fast pace with their new take on the legendary tale of Camelot with Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur, and Deadline is reporting that European model and actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey will be playing Guinevere to Charlie (“Sons of Anarchy”) Hunnam’s King Arthur.
Little is known about the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 5, including if it will carry the previously-announced subtitle “Dead Men Tell No Tales.” It’s expected that franchise star Johnny Depp will return, but could we be seeing another previous cast member show up? Speaking at Oz Comic Con a few days ago (via Daily Mail), actor Orlando Bloom revealed that he might return for the fifth film in the $3 billion franchise.
Disney have announced that the much delayed fifth entry in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise will hit cinemas on July 7, 2017.
From Bleeding Cool…
Although Captain Jack Sparrow is set to sail again in the forthcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Walt Disney Pictures now brings word that the project won’t make its original release date of July 10, 2015. Although nothing is set in stone, studio sources indicate that a 2016 release is likely. The news comes just one day after the studio rescheduled the Marvel Studios property Ant-Man. Launched in 2003 with The Curse of the Black Pearl, the franchise has, in every film so far, featured Johnny Depp in the role of Captain Jack Sparrow. The most recent adventure, On Stranger Tides, also starred Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane and Sam Claflin and turned out more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Catch Me If You Can scribe Jeff Nathanson has provided the screenplay for the fifth installment, which will be directed by Kon-Tiki’s Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is scheduled to begin production this fall. Article Source: ComingSoon
