20th Century Fox’s The Martian, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon, remained on top of the box office in its second weekend with $37 million, a drop of just 31.9% from its opening weekend. The adaptation of the best-selling book by Andy Weir has already earned $108.7 million domestically. Internationally, the sci-fi film added $56.8 million for an overseas total of $117.8 million and worldwide sum of $226.5 million. It was made for about $108 million.
Warner Bros. Pictures has released the new Pan trailer, featuring new footage from director Joe Wright’s upcoming origin story. Pan is set for a worldwide release in 3D and 2D in theaters and IMAX on October 9.
Warner Bros. has decided to move back its summer fantasy film Pan, a prequel to the classic J.M. Barrie Peter Pan tale directed by Joe Wright and starring Levi Miller, Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara and Garrett Hedlund, from its original release date of July 24 to a fall release on October 9.
Offering a new take on the origin of the classic characters created by J.M. Barrie, Pan follows the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny-to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.

Pictures has today officially confirmed that Hugh Jackman will play the villain, the pirate Blackbeard, in Joe Wright’s upcoming untitled Peter Pan film.
