Last week it was confirmed Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation director and co-writer Christopher McQuarrie would return to helm the upcoming sixth film in the long running series, and it’s now being reported that Rogue Nation star Rebecca Ferguson will also return.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation director and co-writer Christopher McQuarrie was in talks to helm the upcoming Mission: Impossible 6, and the director has taken to Twitter to confirm that he will return.

Chris McQuarrie’s Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation is due to arrive Friday, July 31 in US cinemas, but it has been confirmed on the film’s official Facebook page that it will arrive a day earlier in the UK and Ireland: Thursday, July 30!

Paramount Pictures today announced the official title for the fifth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise! Writer and director Christopher McQuarrie’s film will be named Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation and you can watch the first look now. Stay tuned tomorrow for the full trailer!
With the latest franchise sequel having entered production last year, Paramount Pictures has some very exciting news today. Mission: Impossible 5, formerly planned for release on December 25, 2015, will arrive nearly five months earlier than expected! Look for Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt to once again grace the big screen this July 31! The hybrid CGI / live-action family film Monster Trucks, meanwhile, will take Mission: Impossible 5‘s original Christmas Day release. That film was previously scheduled for release on May 29, 2015.
Ving Rhames, who has appeared in all the “Mission: Impossible” movie so far as Luther Stickell, will return in Mission: Impossible 5. The film’s director, Christopher McQuarrie, tweeted the following: “Welcome back, Mr. Rhames. cc: @TomCruise @simonpegg @Renner4Real #MI5Diary”
On the heels of the news earlier today that the film is courting Alec Baldwin to play the head of the CIA, Deadline has revealed that Rebecca Ferguson is set to play the female lead in Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible V.
