Suicide Squad opened in first place domestically with an estimated $135.1 million from 4,255 theaters, an average of $31,752 per location. The opening marks the biggest ever for the month of August, surpassing Guardians of the Galaxy‘s $94.3 million from 2014.
Directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad hits cinemas on Friday August 5.
