Disney have revealed the first image (albeit from behind) of Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins in Rob Marshall’s upcoming sequel.
After Dick van Dyke revealed the news in December, it’s finally been confirmed that the legendary Angela Lansbury will appear in Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, playing a character called the Balloon Lady.
Production on Mary Poppins Returns, the all new sequel to Disney’s 1964 film Mary Poppins, has commenced at England’s Shepperton Studios.

Emily Mortimer has joined the cast of Disney’s upcoming Mary Poppins Returns. Mortimer will play Jane Banks, who along with her brother Michael (Ben Whishaw), was one of the children the magical titular nanny looked after in the original 1964 film, and is now an adult.
Walt Disney Pictures continues to cast its very unwanted Mary Poppins Returns. Already set to star Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, the feature is now looking at adding three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep.
