Ezra Miller in talks for Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them

Warner Bros. Pictures is returning to J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World with next year’s fantasy adventure Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the first part of what is being eyed as a three-film expansion of the highly profitable Harry Potter universe. Already set to star Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston, the David Yates film is today, Variety reports, looking to cast Ezra Miller in a key role. Miller, who previously starred in director Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower, is also set to play the title role in Warner Bros. Pictures’ DC Comics adaptation, The Flash.

Alfonso Cuaron opts out of directing ‘Fantastic Beasts’

Although it sounded last week like Gravity and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban helmer Alfonso Cuaron was planning on returning to the Wizarding World for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Global Post today has an update straight from Cuaron himself who now reveals that he’ll be passing on the director’s chair this time around.

Pictures had set a November 18, 2016 release date for “Harry Potter” spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and now comes word via Nikki Finke that Gravity helmer Alfonso Cuaron is “deep in talks” to direct the film! Cuaron also previously directed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
