Patrick Warburton cast as Lemony Snicket in Netflix’s UNFORTUNATE EVENTS series!

Actor/comedian Patrick Warburton has signed on to portray the fictional version of author/narrator Lemony Snicket (real name Daniel Handler) in Netflix‘s upcoming A Series of Unfortunate Events show. Snicket was previously portrayed by Jude Law in the 2004 movie. Warburton will join headliner Neil Patrick Harris, who is set to star as Count Olaf.

A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS casts Violet and Klaus!

Netflix’s upcoming A Series of Unfortunate Events show has found its Violet and Klaus Baudelaire! Deadline reports that Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes are boarding the series. Weissman is best known for playing young Kara Zor-El on CBS‘ Supergirl. Louis Hynes, on the other hand, is a bit of a mystery as A Series of Unfortunate Events will be his first role. They’ll join the still-in-negotiations Neil Patrick Harris, who is set to star as Count Olaf.

Netflix’s upcoming A Series of Unfortunate Events series has found its Count Olaf! It’s been announced that How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has signed on to headline the upcoming adaptation of Daniel Handler’s books. The news arrives alongside word that formerly-attached showrunner Mark Hudis is no longer involved with the show.

Barry Sonnenfeld to direct Netflix’s A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS

It’s reported today that Netflix has hired Barry Sonnenfeld as director for its highly-anticipated A Series of Unfortunate Events series. Best known as the director of the Men in Black trilogy and the two Addams Family movies, Sonnenfeld was originally hired by Paramount Pictures in 2002 to helm the feature film version, which he developed with Daniel Handler (a.k.a. original author Lemony Snicket) scripting for producer Scott Rudin.

It was announced last year that Netflix are to readapt Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events as a series after 2003’s (criminally underrated) film failed to spawn a sequel. Cast nor crew have yet to be announced, but a mysterious, easter egg-filled teaser trailer hit YouTube this weekend. Netflix have confirmed that it’s fan-made, but it’s simply too brilliant not to share.
