KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE teaser trailer debuts

At long last, after a variety of teases, the teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman sequel has debuted. Cut to Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”, it’s a fun, fast look at one of our most-anticipated films of the year, arriving in September.

As chav-turned-gentleman-spy Eggsy, Taron Egerton was the breakout of The Secret Service, but Sophie Cookson was also terrific as his female counterpart in Kingsman training, Roxy. It’s good to see her back for the sequel, though I’m concerned she’ll be given little to do.

Underwater Hackney — ehrmagherd!!

Michael Gambon seems to be cameoing as Michael Caine’s replacement at the head of the Knight’s table. Nice touch.

I love the shot of Eggsy with his umbrella. And, oh dear, there goes to Kingsman HQ. I suppose every spy franchise must, at some point, destroy the organisation’s headquarters in explosive fashion…

Is that the same Hackney that was just underwater? Either way, a London cab chase is an awesome set-piece.

Oh look, a woman for Eggsy to salivate over. How nice.

Pedro Pascal is playing one of the American Statesman, presumably to Channing Tatum what Mark Strong was to Colin Firth in the British division.

Is this man the male version of Sofia Boutella’s prosthetic-leg villain from The Secret Service? Do we need another henchman in this cast?

Looks like Pascal is doing some serious damage with his lasso.

A snowy/ski-slope set-piece is fairly reminiscent of Egerton’s work in Eddie The Eagle.

Our three Oscar-winning heavyweights: Julianne Moore is the primary antagonist, Halle Berry a Statesman agent and Jeff Bridges the big cheese: the Michael Caine of the Statesmen. I’m very excited to see Moore and Bridges in particular. Also Elton John is in this film. Don’t forget that.

Slightly underwhelming reveal of Colin Firth’s Harry — there are so many spectacular entrances he could’ve been given. Firth receives top billing on the film, but his absence from much of this footage implies perhaps a reduced presence in the film. Who knows…

Kingsman: The Golden Circle arrives in September.
