Just hours after news broke of Carrie Fisher’s tragic death at the age of 60, it has been announced that legendary actress and singer Debbie Reynolds, Fisher’s mother, has also died.
Reynolds is best known for her role in Singin’ in the Rain opposite Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor. She was just 19 at the time (the same age Fisher was making Star Wars).
She appeared in many film and TV productions during the following few decades, and become a famed stage performer. Her final screen appearance was in 2013’s Behind the Candelabra.
Reynolds is survived by her son Todd Fisher and her granddaughter, actress Billie Lourd (who had a small role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens).
Fisher and Reynolds will be buried together.
