20th Century Fox have updated the release dates of several upcoming projects, moving Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant forward to May 2017, dating James Cameron’s Avatar 2 and- frustratingly- pushing Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman sequel back from June to October.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle, directed by Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class), stars Taron Egerton, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, Mark Strong, Elton John, Vinnie Jones, Pedro Pascal and Colin Firth. The film was due to open on June 16 next year, but will now arrive on October 6.
In more upbeat news, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel- Alien: Covenant– has debuted a teaser poster and revealed its new release date of May 19. The sci-fi stars Katherine Waterston and Michael Fassbender.
Finally, Fox have dated an “Untitled Fox / Lightstorm Film” for December 21, 2018. It’s widely assumed that this is James Cameron’s Avatar sequel, which would see the film arrive 9 years after the first instalment. Ridiculous, we know.
