Just weeks after the release of his record-breaking hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams has revealed his latest project as producer to the world: a secret sequel to the 2008 found-footage thriller Cloverfield, starring John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead!
About the Bad Robot film, producer J.J. Abrams said: “The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of ‘Cloverfield.’ The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.”
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the March 11, 2016 release stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. The script was written by Josh Campbell, Matthew Stuecken and Whiplash director Damien Chazelle.
