‘Thor: The Dark World’ passes $500m worldwide

It was extremely close following this weekend’s box office, but now it’s official, Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World has crossed the $500 million at the global box office! The Chris Hemsworth-lead film now has a domestic total of $152 million, just $30 million shy of its predecessor’s domestic total. Here’s the breakdown of the film’s numbers in other territories:

China $46.1M
Russia $33.6M
UK $28.3M
Brazil $22.2M
Mexico $20.9M
France $19.9M
Korea $19.2M
Germany $18.2M
Australia $17.9M
Other $125.9M
Total $352.2M

The sequel has now outgrossed the first Thor film at the global box office by over $50 million. It is also the third Disney release this year to cross the $500 million mark, a feat that includes Iron Man 3and Monster’s University. How much do you think the film will gross before its run is complete?
